Design solutions for people

Design Thinking fosters innovation by focusing on the right challenge
Design Thinking is a user-centered process that starts with user data, creates design artifacts that address real and not imaginary user needs, and then tests those artifacts with real users. It also leverages collective expertise and establishes a shared language, as well as buy-in amongst your team.
Without a solid UX design process, you have a lower chance of creating a product with good UX. A well-defined and well-executed UX process, on the other hand, makes it possible to craft amazing experiences for users.
The success of design thinking lies in its ability to transform an aspect of the end user’s life.
The diagram above illustrates when you start a project, it can be a lot to sift through the chaos and uncertainty but as you go through the steps of Design Thinking: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, Test and Implement you reach a destination of clarity and focus.
Once you can clear through the noise, patterns and insights start to emerge and from there we gain clarity and focus on what the solution is. Design Thinking is only one type of framework, there are many others that can be used depending on the project.
As a product designer who creates digital products and services
Design Thinking plays a big part in creating solutions for people. People centered design leads to innovation and innovation can lead to a competitive advantage.
I also have expertise in graphic design, branding and accessibility. My approach to solving problems is by asking a lot of questions, listening and synthesizing information so that people’s needs are met. My goal is to craft experiences that are enjoyable and equitable for all.
During my time-off you will often see me and my husband Ben on our bicycles. We are deeply committed to helping and inspiring others get around the city by walking, cycling, or taking transit. Our cities are designed for the car and we need our cities to be designed for people. We also volunteer at London Cycle Link, Squeaky Wheel and Strong Towns.
